| Pythia Project - Introduction |
![]()
Pythia is a management assistant system which integrates project planning and decision support capabilities into one software package. It includes full-fledged graphical editors and computational engines to create a stand-alone and configurable toolset on the open technology and platform neutral modeling Eclipse platforms.
Pythia includes the following subsystems:
Pythia Planner is an UML2-based requirement capturing, modelling, effort estimation, project planning, and documenting subsystem which based on and integrates wide-spread standard technologies. It provides a set of functionality for estimating and planning software-intensive system projects, including:
- COCOMOII, CORADMO, COQUALMO, Use Case Point Method estimators
- UML 2 Component, Use case, Robustness model editor for requirement capture
- Project planner extension to support project schedule generation
Pythia Decision is based on Bayesian belief networks (BBN) technology for representing and analyzing causal models involving uncertainty. It provides a set of tools for constructing probabilistic inference and decision support systems on BBNs, including, but not limited to, the following application areas:
- Operational risk in financial institutions
- Medical diagnosis
- Defect prediction, fault diagnosis, and predicting reliability of critical systems
